FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio – Earth Fare announced it is closing its Fairview Park store and will begin a liquidation sale Wednesday, Feb. 8.
The sale at the store, which is located at 3450 West Gate Mall, will include all items priced at 25 percent off. It will continue while supplies last, the store said in a release.
Earth Fare had operated a store in that location from 2011 until 2020. The company filed for bankruptcy, but later that year, the natural and organic grocer began reopening some locations under new ownership. The Fairview Park store reopened in 2022.
In a statement, Earth Fare Chief Operating Officer Henry Kugler said the company is “extremely disheartened” about the closure, but “the economic climate along with market conditions is very different now than it was when we operated here successfully, and ultimately we are unable to provide our shoppers with the experience they need and deserve.”
The store said employees have the option to transfer to the Canton location at 3939 Everhard Road NW. That is the sole Earth Fare in the state.
Earth Fare – which developed a “food philosophy” that bans all artificial ingredients, trans fats, high-fructose corn syrup and added hormones and antibiotics – has more than 20 locations in eight states.
